A driver who suffered from an unknown medical episode started rolling over into a busy intersection, just about missing numerous near-fatal accidents.
That was thanks to a band of strangers who rushed to the vehicle in order to stop it from moving any further, as well as to bring the alarming situation to other drivers’ attention.
Good Samaritans poured in from all over the show after a co-worker of the incapacitated driver realised something was off, got out of her car, and sprinted to the drifting car.
It is the police’s understanding that the co-workers both left work at the same time and were in lanes next to each other when the situation unfolded.
Luckily, the concerned co-worker was close enough to see their work friend “slumped over the wheel”, coming to the rescue before things became much worse.
The urgency is palpable:
Again, from the opposite direction:
More video of this act of heroism! We have been in touch with several of the Good Samaritans and will be honoring them/reuniting them with the woman they rescued tomorrow afternoon. Thank you. @WPBF25News @WPTV @CBS12 @wsvn @WPLGLocal10 @nbc6 pic.twitter.com/hQgFvl5RiN

The incident happened in Boynton Beach, Florida, on May 5, with the video released by the Boynton Beach Police Department:
“It was the kindness of complete strangers,” Stephanie Slater, the public information officer for the Boynton Beach Police Department, told NPR. “It was restoring your faith in humanity. It was … it’s beautiful.”
One onlooker who came to help managed to break a window with a dumbbell and enter the car, authorities said.
The car was then moved to a convenience store where 911 was called and the lady received medical attention.
Slater confirmed that the woman is currently doing well, and has spoken with her employer:
“She’s fine. She’s OK,” Slater said. “I was told that she was at work today.”
The police are hoping to publicly acknowledge all the good Samaritans involved and thank them for their gallant efforts.
Glad that all worked out.
