Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the mouth of a shark?
Stories in the media about shark “attacks” – now known as “encounters” because they aren’t actually out to get you – have created a great deal of fear around these creatures, but really they’re quite marvellous.
That’s why a self-proclaimed pirate, cinematographer, and conservationist’s first-hand footage of a shark chomping down on a camera is fascinating.
Zimy Da Kid managed to capture 27 seconds of the inside of a shark’s mouth, as the camera bypasses the razor-sharp teeth, the gills on the inner walls, and the closed throat.
PetaPixel described the inner area beyond the line of “scary-looking teeth” as “very smooth and clean”.
The shark, having sufficiently gnawed on the camera, promptly spat it out and went on with its day.
