How the BBC managed to get the location of South Africa so wrong when reporting on the floods in KwaZulu-Natal is beyond understanding.
As one of the world’s most respected news services, it’s not too much to ask that its graphics manage to accurately show where we are located on a map of Africa.
After all, the dead giveaway is in the name.
Rather, according to this live TV report, SA is more in the middle, say where the Democratic Republic of Congo is supposed to be.
Andrew Ferod Field, from Zimbabwe, was just as flabbergasted when he saw the report play out and posted a clip to Facebook, reported SAPeople.
Brace yourselves for the embarrassment:
Let’s hope somebody was given a stern talking to and shown how to search on Google for ‘map of Africa‘.
Easier than wincing and apologising in front of a whole continent.
