That’s Carol Maltesi, a 26-year-old adult performer known as Charlotte Angie, who was found chopped into more than a dozen pieces thawing in black bags and spread across an area two hours outside of Milan.
As a pandemic-born OnlyFans star, the Italian-Dutch national was picked up by several international pornography production houses and had done several shoots all over the world.
Her death only came to light eight days ago, when someone, walking on a mountain road in the Brescia province, spotted a hand with purple glitter nail polish sticking out.
Her body showed signs of having been dead for months, but police were stumped as there were no immediate missing persons reports.
The challenge of finding out the woman’s identity was further compounded by the fact that her face was badly burned and her body, recently frozen, split into pieces, with some parts still missing:

It was only thanks to her 11 distinct tattoos, many of which appear in her porn videos, that police figured out the situation.
Here’s more from The Daily Beast:
Among the tattoos still visible were the words “step by step” on her right ankle, “wanderlust” on her right collarbone, and “elegance is the…” down her back.
She also had an inverted “V” on one inner thigh and two inverted “V’s” on the other, which were recognizable in many of her porn films. It was soon clear that she had not posted on any of her social media since January, though no one had reported her missing.
Her friends say they assumed she was off at some exotic location on a shoot.
According to people Maltesi knew, she had a young son and was reportedly living with a male relative:

Shortly after the police released her description, Andrea Tortelli, a journalist in Brescia, received a tip-off about her real identity and contacted acquaintances of Maltesi, per The Telegraph.
He was chilled by the coincidences and had to figure out more:
“I thought to myself ‘what are the odds that all this coincides – the physical description, and that this woman has eight of the same tattoos?” Mr Tortelli told The Telegraph. “But I didn’t want to go to the police until I was sure.”
He decided to verify his discovery by messaging her on WhatsApp and was shocked when he got a reply.
“A number of people have told me about that girl,” Mr Fontana – pretending to be Maltesi – wrote back. “Fortunately I am fine.”
Mr Tortelli pressed for a voice message to confirm her identity, but was met with silence:
“I thought ‘the only person who would reply pretending to be a dead woman is the person who killed her. So basically there is an assassin on the loose.’ I decided to take all my information to the Carabinieri,” said Mr Tortelli.
It turns out that 43-year-old Milanese banker Davide Fontana was impersonating her for all those months, sending messages to journalists and Maltesi’s mother to make it seem like she was “fine”.
Police eventually swooped in and charged him with aggravated degree homicide, dismemberment, and concealing a corpse:

Fontana first came forward and said he knew Maltesi but denied having anything to do with her disappearance.
But everything he said was contradicted by investigators and he eventually admitted to killing her with a hammer:
The man allegedly told police that he had “accidentally” killed her during a consensual tryst, and then, not knowing what to do, cut her up and put her in garbage bags in first her freezer and then later his.
Many parts of the body are burned, including her face, and other body parts are missing, leading police to investigate whether he discarded, ate, or destroyed them in a ritual.
Besides storing her dismembered body in a freezer and dumping the parts, Fontana even continued to pay her rent.
Disgusting.
