Watching car crash videos is not my idea of a good time.
It does make it a great deal easier when you know the driver survived and there’s quality commentary to spice things up a little.
In the case of this Gqeberha driver (it’s pronounced ‘click’-bare-gha), he can consider himself incredibly lucky to survive after smashing through a property wall in Bluewater Bay and ending up in a pool.
SA Trucker reports that the accident took place on Sunday morning after the VW Golf driver lost control of his vehicle on the N2.
The VW Golf can be seen crashing through the wall before it rests at the edge of the pool.
As it lands, the driver is flung out and lands in the pool.
A warning that there’s some coarse language in this clip:

Calling him ‘po*s lucky’ is pretty accurate when you consider that the driver landed in the pool and then became submerged.
Thankfully, the homeowner was in at the time and hauled the man out of the water:
Paramedics who attended the scene indicated that the driver did not drown because he may already have been unconscious when he was thrown into the pool.
He was rushed to hospital in a serious but stable state.
In the full video, from the 1:40 mark, you can see the homeowner save the day:
All in all, an incredibly fortunate escape.
