It’s become increasingly clear that Russia is engaging in war crimes in Ukraine.
For every video of Ukrainians taking out Russian infantry, there’s a video of innocent civilians suffering from indiscriminate airstrikes.
This photojournalist can tell you about such war crimes from her firsthand experience, as can millions of Ukrainians and the Sky News team that was ambushed.
The latest footage to show accepted international rules of war being violated features a civilian motorist being shot by Russian soldiers outside Kyiv.
German public service broadcaster ZDF has shared the drone video.
Below via The Telegraph:
It said the images had been obtained from a Ukrainian military surveillance drone. The incident happened a few kilometers west of Kyiv on the E40 expressway, it said.
The video begins shortly after 2pm on March 7.
It shows a Russian tank parked just off the road next to a petrol station, and civilian cars desperately turning around as the drivers see it.
For one driver, it was the last thing he would see:

ZDF said it spoke to the Ukrainian operator of the drone, a volunteer with the “Bugatti Company”.
He showed them his Mavic III drone and said he had been tasked that day with using the device to observe Russian positions on the E40 expressway.
The drone operator says he also captured footage of a woman and a child, who were in the same vehicle, being taken by soldiers into a nearby forest.
He doesn’t know what happened to the woman and child but says the car was burnt shortly afterwards.
