I am not sure if Elon Musk thinks he’s living in Bridgerton, but one does not simply challenge a dangerous world leader (with his finger hovering over those nuclear weapons buttons) to single combat.
Unless you have come to think of Twitter as a “war zone” – something Musk has said in an interview where he also added that he “was always crazy” on the site, per The Independent.
Well, he has really gone off the deep end on the platform recently, with alarming posts coming in hot one after the other. Finally, he tweeted a challenge to duel with Vladimir Putin to fight over Ukraine:
“I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat,” he tweeted, using the Russian alphabet to write Mr Putin’s name.
“Stakes are Ukraine,” he continued, writing the country’s name in its own language.
In a follow-up tweet, Mr Musk then posted a whole message in Russian. “Do you agree to this fight?”, he wrote, tagging the Kremlin’s official English language Twitter account.
See?
Вы согласны на этот бой? @KremlinRussia_E

When a Twitter user replied saying that they thought the Russian president could win any fight, Musk tried to bait Putin even further:
“If Putin could so easily humiliate the west, then he would accept the challenge,” Mr Musk wrote. “But he will not.”
If Putin’s masculinity is as fragile as it seems (I mean…), then perhaps Musk will at least get a social media reaction from the Kremlin.
It is worth noting that Musk’s challenge was submitted amidst some other rather strange Tweets:
In the hour before that post, he had written “By the pricking of my thumbs”, an apparent reference to Macbeth – a lien that is followed by the phrase “something wicked this way comes”.
And shortly before that, he had posted “There is a beauty to the biological substrate”. It was not clear what he meant, but the phrase is used in neuroscience and psychology – something in which Mr Musk has an interest, through his startup Neuralink.
Things then became weirder:

Alrighty…
People are terribly disappointed by Musk, although he has shown support for Ukraine both on Twitter and through his companies.
Besides mocking Russian officials on social media and sharing support for Ukraine, he also sent Starlink rockets to the country to provide internet.
While Musk’s tweets have landed him in quite a few pickles in the past, including lawsuits and plummeting stocks, he seems to revel in the chaos.
