So brave.
I guess it’s now become politically expedient to distance oneself from Vladimir Putin for rather obvious reasons.
Rather late than never, as they say.
Putin’s untold riches and nuclear arsenal make the ongoing Ukrainian resistance all the more remarkable.
Little by little, in what has been dubbed ‘slow annihilation’, Russia is making headway.
After profiting from decades of close ties with Putin Russia’s oligarchs and billionaires are now being hit with sanctions.
Superyachts, properties, and company accounts have been frozen as world powers use the means at their disposal that don’t involve accentuating the risk of nuclear war.
According to Fortune, Russians protesting against the invasion on social media include the children of oligarchs and government officials close to Putin:
Ksenia Sobchak, a socialite and former presidential candidate, has fled Russia and is now in Turkey with her son. Her parents are the former mayor of St. Petersburg and a Russian senator.
She has kept advocating, and yesterday posted a picture to Instagram calling for a cease-fire. The caption reads that she is scared and calls on Putin and his government to end the war.
She also said that “Global geopolitical interests cannot be more important than the simple peaceful life of millions of people” and asked “Vladimir and Vladimir! Give in to each other today!!!”
The Ukrainian president’s name is actually Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and I don’t really think it’s fair to ask him to “give in” when his country is being invaded, Ksenia:

Also in the mix is Elizaveta (Lisa) Peskova, the daughter of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
She briefly posted an Instagram story with the hashtag #notothewar, but deleted it after an hour.
Here’s her last permanent post:

So, so brave.
To be fair to Lisa, she has spoken out against Putin in the past.
In 2016, she was very vocal in denouncing Russia’s anti-LGBTQIA+ policies and the country’s “hellish” education system.
Last week, her father said that the arrests of anti-war protesters in Russia was correct because, by law, rallies are not allowed.
Stellar bloke.
Let’s turn our attention to Maria Yumasheva. She’s the granddaughter of former Russian president Boris Yeltsin and daughter of current government advisor Valentin Yumashev:
Yumasheva’s latest Instagram post shows a photo of the Ukrainian flag captioned “no war,” and she tweeted the same…
The 19-year-old attended an anti-war rally in London earlier last week to show her solidarity with Ukrainians. Her fiancé Fedor Smolov, a striker for Dynamo Moscow and Russia, was was one of the first national team players to speak up against the invasion.
Remember when everyone posted black squares on Instagram in support of Black Lives Matter and it cured racism?

Oligarch Roman Abramovich’s name has been in the news of late, after he publicly announced that he was selling Chelsea Football Club.
Daughter Sofia went public with her views last week. Below via iNews:
The 27-year-old daughter of Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich spends much of her time in London and has spoken out against the Putin regime.
In an Instagram post last week, Ms Abramovich replaced the word “Russia” with “Putin” in the sentence “Putin wants a war with Ukraine”. She added: “The biggest and most successful lie of [the] Kremlin’s propaganda is that most Russian[s] stand with Putin.”
That was via an Instagram Story. This is her latest post:
