Icy roads are no joke.
The danger they pose is even at the centre of a Liam Neeson action movie.
This United States Postal Service (USPS) truck driver might have a future as Neeson’s stunt double after he managed to survive a 15-metre flip off of an icy bridge.
He was couriering a bunch of mail near Boston when he suddenly skidded off the bridge and over the guardrail, landing in the freezing cold water of the Charles River.
A surveillance camera managed to capture the scene, which the State Police Association of Massachusetts shared in a video posted to Twitter.
The incident is reported to have taken place on Saturday on Route 128:

The police confirmed that the driver survived rather miraculously, having waited for rescuers on the broken front of the trailer, per NDTV:
The driver was unable to swim but climbed atop the partially submerged vehicle.
“He was just saying he was really cold,” Deputy Fire chief Justin Woodside told reporters.
Thankfully, firefighters were already in the area, which allowed them to respond quite quickly.
Rescuers had to wear cold water suits to bring the driver to shore, after which he was taken to hospital.
According to the doctors who evaluated the driver, he managed to avoided injuries.
As for all those lost letters, the Massachusetts Police tried to salvage the mail, but said that “as they tried to pull the truck out of the river, it broke into half and the packages fell into the icy river”.
