Victoria and David Beckham’s adoration for their children often has them applauding some strange situations that their kids get into.
Take for example that awfully embarrassing cooking segment that Brooklyn Beckham was a part of on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
Or his totally amateur photography debut, before he decided to be a professional cook with a knack for putting a simple breakfast sandwich together.
Now, it is Brooklyn’s younger brother, 17-year-old Cruz, who is getting praise from his parents despite what people on the ground think.
The Independent reported that the Beckhams are catching a little heat after they showed off their son’s “coming-of-age” photoshoot with i-D Magazine.
Folks all over social media are a little worried to see the still underage Cruz with bubblegum pink hair, “shirtless and in white boxers with jeans pulled down to ankles”.
Victoria shared pictures from the photoshoot a day after Cruz turned 17 with absolute pride:

Cue the online pushback:
After Cruz’s “proud” popstar-turned-entrepreneur mother Posh Spice uploaded pictures of her teenage son on Instagram, fans called her out over the “scary” and “sad” stills.
One Instagram user wrote: “I don’t wanna see a 17-year-old like that.”
Another called the shoot “Dreadful” considering he’s still underage.
Some also had a problem with the fact that he has a butterfly tattoo, considering it is illegal to get tattooed before the age of 18 in the UK.
The image is apparently supposed to pay homage to a past image of David Beckham when he graced the cover of The Homme Plus magazine in May last year.
In i-D’s photoshoot and interview, it mentions that Cruz went from contemplating playing football professionally like his father for a brief moment, to pursuing a career in music.
The photoshoot is just a way for him to find his style, I guess.
It’s been argued that this orange prison overall look is a bit much for a teen:
Then there’s the unsettling facial expressions and lying around as if in a drug haze:
And the grills (???):
