Videos of police officers being hammered on the job in this country aren’t in short supply.
Sure it’s a stressful job, but drown your sorrows off the clock, please.
The latest footage coming out of Kwazulu-Natal, which first began to do the rounds last week, is really concerning.
The officer in the clip, later identified as a sergeant stationed at Osizweni SAPS, near Newcastle, has to be helped by a girl in her school uniform.
His gun is clearly visible:

Police spokesperson Jay Naicker confirmed the man’s identity and said disciplinary action has since been taken, reports The Citizen:
A day after the incident, police went to the sergeant’s home and seized his service pistol “for safekeeping”. It is believed the incident took place last Friday [February 4].
Following the footage going viral, a departmental investigation has been registered against the sergeant.
There’s been no comment yet from Bheki Cele, our minister of police, although he’s probably busy looking over his shoulder after President Ramaphosa said in his state of the nation address that there would be “leadership changes” within the security agencies.
One source within the security cluster said Ramaphosa is considering Fikile Mbalula again. Have we not suffered enough?
