Usually, I wouldn’t take anything British trash rag The Sun reports as truth.
However, in this case, there’s actually a video interview with 50-year-old Emma Gruenbaum rather than anonymous ‘sources’.
Gruenbaum, Prince Andrew’s former massage therapist, labelled the royal a “constant sex pest” and said he would pepper her with questions about her love life.
In early 2005, Gruenbaum began treating Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson while employed at the Wentworth Club in Surrey.
Andrew then got in touch via his personal secretary and Gruenbaum began treating Andrew at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, visiting on six occasions that year.
The Duke’s legal team are arguing that Virginia Giuffre, who accuses the Duke of York of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions while she was underage, may suffer from “false memories”.
On that front, Gruenbaum’s interview is far from ideal, as she stated that Andrew:
She went into detail regarding one particular session:
“I heard a voice, ‘Hey nice a****. Do you take it up the a***?’
“I stood up quickly and turned around. I was up against the massage table and [Andrew] was up against me, eyeball to eyeball. Almost touching, he was really close.
“And I went, ‘None of your f***ing business.’ And he just looked at me in sort of a dead stare and said, ‘You can’t talk to me like that.’ I said, ‘Well you can’t speak to me like that.’
…all the way through he was talking about anal sex and making anal sex jokes. He asked when I had last had sex. It went on and on.”
There’s a reason he was dubbed ‘Randy Andy’ decades ago.
After rebuffing what she claims were attempts to “overstep the line” on multiple occasions, Gruenbaum (above) said Andrew’s staff stopped calling and no further sessions were scheduled.
“He was a pest. But it was always in a ‘matron and schoolboy’ way.
“He seemed to want me to tell him to shut up. He was just a creep. I always used to tell my girlfriends what a total creep he was… But now I see the way he has treated younger women. It is scary to think how I might have felt if I was ten years younger and less experienced.”
Gruenbaum has moved on from massage therapy and says she is speaking out now because she wants to “add my voice and my experience to help, if it does help at all, to add context on what sort of character he is and how he treated me.”.
Again, it is The Sun so we should be cautious.
But this isn’t the first time a masseuse has spoken out. In 2000, Monique Giannelloni alleged that a valet showed her Andrew’s bedroom at Buckingham Palace before he came out of a bathroom naked.
She had been introduced to Andrew by none other than Ghislaine Maxwell.
The Duke’s trial date is likely to be somewhere between September and December of this year.
