Another cash-in-transit heist took place in Dunoon near Milnerton this morning.
This follows on from a shootout and ambushing of a cash-in-transit vehicle on the highway near Goodwood in mid-January, which was followed by arrests, and members of the public stuffing their pockets with money.
Cape Town Etc reported that a money vehicle was ambushed by an unknown number of armed gunmen in Potsdam Road at the Shoprite Centre, although SBV armed guards we able to successfully protect the cash pile.
What followed was a shootout with the suspects with what sounds like military-grade ammunition.
Eyewitnesses who were brave enough to whip out their phones and record this raucous encounter captured the daring escape pulled off by SBV security guards:

It is alleged that an SBV member was shot during the incident, although there is no comment on his current condition.
No other details have been reported at this time.
