Driving around in a fancy sports car really does put a target on your back.
Remember the glee with which the Constantia 2FAST4U crash was met?
It didn’t help that the woman behind the wheel, trucking company boss Erica Holt, later had a dig at “the Constantia ladies”.
A Ferrari driver in Cape Town is now on the receiving end of much envious ribbing after being spotted on the side of the road when his tank hit empty.
He remains in the vehicle while a man can be seen trying to get him going by pumping fuel from a 20-litre water bottle.
Yes, there’s a running commentary:

Social media is ruthless.
Fun fact – February could see the petrol price pass R20 a litre. Who’s laughing now?
The story has since been covered by CapeTalk (host Lester Kiewit said “shame”), Jacaranda FM, and other outlets like The Citizen.
Briefly picked out a few responses that actually showed some sympathy for the man behind the wheel:
Bottom line is he still drives a Ferrari, once it is filled with petrol, then its still drives like a Ferrari.I wouldn’t care, would have done the same thing as him, a tow truck costs how much than a half drum of petrol.

He bought the petrol though. It’s right there in the container.
Many reason why you can get stuck.
-Unexpected traffic.
-Someone else used the car without refilling.
-Being late. Passing the garage hoping to refill later. Then you get stuck on way thrPeople can be weird.

When Broke People feel good about the Bank Accounts on 0.00 because they saw a Ferrari than ran out of petrol.

This is why I will always drive average cars.
Nobody films you when you’re stranded on the side of the road in a 2007 VW Polo.
