The grandson of late president Nelson Mandela is making headlines again for yet another horrendous misdeed that he allegedly committed.
Mbuso Mandela posted a video to Instagram confessing to beating and strangling his girlfriend with a Trellidoor.
Josina Machel, whose mother Graca was married to Nelson Mandela, is a gender-based violence activist and she is devastated that Mbuso has shamed the family like this.
It is not clear when the original video was posted, but it has since been shared on social media for the world to see:

Josina posted this damning statement to her Instagram with Mbuso’s video, via News24:
“The video has shattered us as family. In my personal capacity, as a family member and founder of Kuhluka Movement [a non-profit civil society mass organisation directed at combating the violation of rights of women] we condemn these actions in the strongest terms.
“We cannot condone preparations of violence in our families. We are looking for the best course of action,” Josina said in her post.
The drama then continued with Mbuso’s supposed partner posting a video to deny that she was ever abused by him:

Despite this, people are claiming that Mbuso’s girlfriend is just protecting him, while suggesting that he is indeed abusive and quite possibly “high on drugs” in the video, per The South African.
Mbuso, whose father was the late Makgatho Mandela, does have a history of scandals.
In 2012, his brother Mandla accused him of having an affair with his then-wife, Anaias Grimaud, and impregnating her.
Then, in 2015, Mbuso appeared in court for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl near the toilets at Mamma’s Shebeen restaurant and bar in Greenside, Johannesburg.
The charges were dropped, as Mbuso reportedly told the court that the interaction was consensual and that he believed the girl to be of legal age.
Again in 2015, Mbuso’s other brother Ndaba Mandla opened a case of theft against Mbuso for allegedly stealing $6 000 (now worth more than R90 000) from him to buy drugs.
Reports have also mentioned that Mbuso was once an “outpatient” at a drug rehabilitation centre.
He has also been accused of allegedly assaulting a 41-year-old woman after having sex with her and has been called a “deadbeat dad” for refusing to pay child support.
He inherited $3,1 million from his grandfather’s estate (around R46 million in today’s money).
