There are some things that are better left in the past.
I caught a whiff of Peach Schnapps the other day and my stomach did a complete 180. You never, ever forget the first alcohol that leaves you hugging the toilet bowl.
Thankfully, there isn’t a fragrance inspired by the errors of my misspent youth.
There is a Brutal Fruit fragrance which I feel could be a marketing gimmick but is being reported as legit.
Yes, SAB has branched out into the perfume game with a scent inspired by the drink:
Our new fragrance is the head turner you never knew you needed💃🏾 Introducing You Belong by Brutal Fruit: An elegant and delicate blend of fruity, floral and spicy notes, inspired by confident women. So exciting! 😉Comment below if you’d like to try it #YouBelongToAffect pic.twitter.com/wH4Dpx9ABd

According to Business Insider SA the perfume, developed by master performers, is a blend of “sparkling citrus and floral top notes with sandalwood, plum, and peach middle notes”.
Deep breath – it also has “subtle underscores of tonka beans, labdanum, and precious woods”.
I knew I smelt the unmistakable aroma of tonka beans somewhere.
Ramona Kayembe, the marketing manager of Brutal Fruit South Africa, says the fragrance is a celebration of “sisterhood that positively and positively affects all those they encounter”.
Alrighty then. What next?
Klippies – the new fragrance for men, by men:
It has subtle notes of hay bales, veldskoene, and longing for pre-1994.
That photo is actually via South African company Boerboel Wear, which has gone viral a few times for the fantastic modelling on show.
Look, if Brutal Fruit’s ‘You Belong’ is your vibe then go right ahead.
