I am all for Britney Spears and her outlandish self-expression on Instagram.
All the times that she’s posted pics of herself semi-nude or full-on nude have been metaphorical and powerful, to say the least, as if she was literally shedding the weight of the conservatorship that controlled her life for so long.
But I must say, her most recent Instagram “skit” has left me feeling a little uncomfortable.
Using a harsh, tropical coloured filter, Britney acts as both a therapist and a character named Ashley who has very little control of her bowel movements when she’s with her boyfriend, Earl.
Let it loose, Britney:

Pink News mentioned that Ashley might be inspired by her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears‘ controversial book, Things I Should Have Said.
The skit did come amidst the height of the feud between Britney and her sister, with Britney sending a cease and desist order to Jamie Lynn because of the defaming content in the book.
While promoting her new book, Jamie Lynn spoke of Britney’s “erratic, paranoid and spiralling” behaviour over the years in an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America, for example.
Britney gave her two (thousand) cents about that on Twitter, accusing Jamie of writing the book to make money at her expense.
The second note has more on that:

Although Britney was “forced” to go to therapy for all those years during the conservatorship, she has admitted that she’s needed it.
So her satirising therapy with this odd skit might just be another quirky way for her to cope in the face of immense hardship and lack of privacy.
I mean, her latest Instagram post suggests she might be doing a bit better:
