Boris Johnson has once again unlocked true rambling idiot mode as he tries to play down the scandal of attending “boozy parties” during a national crisis.
The night before Prince Philip’s funeral, while the Queen and the country were in mourning, two parties were raging on at Downing Street, held by Boris’ staff, the BBC reported.
These bacchanalias also came at a time when England was under “step two” restrictions that stipulated people could not socialise indoors, except with those from their support bubble.
There is also talk about a drinks gathering in the Downing Street garden during the first lockdown, as well as a fairly rowdy gathering in the No 10 basement.
These parties have opened up a can of worms about the rule-breaking that goes on in government buildings, creating a major backlash against Boris who is now being urged to resign.
With ramble mode in full throttle, all Boris can do when interviewed about it is “repeat my apologies” between hanging his head in shame:
He really is an imbecile of the highest order.
And now for the brilliant viral spoof video with various Line of Duty stars – Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), Ted Hastings (Adrian Dubar), and Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) – reprising their roles to mock Boris and his ‘Partygate’ nonsense:

I guess the country will have to do what Boris keeps rambling on about: wait for the outcome of the Sue Gray investigation into lockdown gatherings in government buildings.
