There’s a sprawling mega-mansion in Palm Springs, California, with some really eyebrow-raising features.
You can complete your awestruck face with a pinkie to the corner of the mouth gesture because Austin Powers‘ Dr Evil would be thoroughly impressed by this 1 920-square-metre monstrosity.
Not only because the monolith comes with retractable walls around the outdoor space and infinity pools, but also a massive indoor shark tank/tunnel.
The $50 million (roughly R765 million) Hagadone Residence, as it is referred to, is owned by newspaper publisher and real-estate developer Duane Hagadone and designed by Guy Dreier, known for his creations of unconventional homes, reports Luxury Launches.
The seven-bedroom, 12-bathroom home sits on 7,68 acres of land, with nothing conventional or lowkey about it.
I mean a shark tank for crying out loud. What next?
It’s quite something:
You have to walk through the aquarium tunnel made up of two fish tanks to access the dining room.
As groovy as this all seems, the mansion is not that kitsch. Rather it is full of grandeur and elegance:
The living room of this spectacular house, built on a hilltop in 2007, flaunts a titanium-clad fireplace, undulating wooden flooring, sweeping views of the valley, and a grand piano for entertainment.
There are no doorknobs or switches to be found here, as all doors are handled through an innovative home system.
The main suite is chock-a-block with an outdoor lounge area, a private outdoor spa, a fireplace, dual baths, and closets:
Not going to lie, the entrance looks a lot like Canal Walk:
The huge garage able to house 10 cars, along with the five covered parking spaces, more than makes up for that association, though:
The home also comes with three interlocking heated pools, a waterfall, a spa, and access to the golf course at the Bighorn Golf Club, where the home is located.
There’s also a separate four-bedroom guest pavilion with ample space for up to 10 people.
So, Mr Hagadone, when is the party? Or the next Austin Powers movie?
