We’ve told you a fair bit about our favourite spot in the Franschhoek Winelands already.
But we haven’t touched on exactly how mouthwatering their breakfasts and lunches are, nor how luxurious the feast will make you feel.
New year, new you, and we want to do better and be better, after all.
But New Year’s resolutions don’t last all that long, so we’re taking advantage of this opportunity as quickly as we can.
Surrounded by the postcard-perfect Groot Drakenstein Mountains, Anthonij Rupert Wyne is the perfect spot for your first meal of the day.
And second, and third perhaps – there’s no judgement here.
The views are everything, but really, the food is where the experience is at; served with fresh, local ingredients at Rupert’s Terra Del Capo Antipasto Bar.
For breakfast, you can relax under the olive trees and enjoy their custom-roasted coffee, fresh-pressed juices, or a glass of crisp L’Ormarins Cap Classique:
Brekkie is only available on Saturdays and Sundays.
With such a delicious start to the day, there’s no reason not to make it a lunch thing, too.
I don’t know about you, but I could easily sample wines and devour Italian-inspired antipasti dishes and platters in the dappled shade of those olive trees all day long.
The menu is a delight, with a selection of vegetarian, seafood, and meat antipasti, all available with award-winning wine pairings.
For something lighter, you can tuck into a cheese and charcuterie platter, which might as well be paired with the five-star Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays and reservations are required, so be sure to make a quick booking before you drive out there.
With the Winelands so close at hand, it’s a waste not to take advantage of the beauty on our doorsteps.
