The US is recording in excess of 100 000 new cases of COVID-19 a day.

In total, the country has crossed the 50 million cases mark with 813 904 recorded deaths.

We’re at the stage now where some people, regardless of whatever evidence is presented to them, will never trust the vaccine.

Not much you can do there, although UCT psychiatry professor Jackie Hoare does have advice for healthcare workers and others when it comes to the vaccine-hesitant.

Jordan Klepper is well versed in chatting with those who aren’t very fond of the jab. Usually, he’s in a Republican state with Donald Trump supporters but it’s a different story this time around.

The Daily Show correspondent headed to Southern California, where he found a different breed of vaccine resistors — who, actually, weren’t all that different. Some of them may swear they don’t identify as “anti-vaxxers,” but when asked what they do believe in, some of them arguably make even less sense than their Trumpist variant.

Before you ask, yes there is somebody comparing vaccine mandates to Nazi Germany.
