It’s no exaggeration to hear Jeffrey Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion described as a “house of horrors”.
Anybody who has watched the four-part Netflix documentary Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich will be well aware of what is alleged to have gone on in Florida.
The ongoing trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, who is facing eight charges of sex trafficking and other crimes related to procuring underage girls and women for Epstein, still manages to bring to light more shocking insights into the life the pair lived.
For one, the 58-page handbook of rules is quite something.
Yesterday, prosecutors submitted a series of photos of the late paedophile’s Florida estate taken in 2005 as evidence, including the above image of a nude Maxwell posing for the camera.
The New York Post reports:
One of the snaps depicts a marble-walled room decked out with a massage table and a black desk. Hanging over it is a black-and-white portrait of Maxwell holding what appears to be a Yorkshire terrier dog.
Multiple witnesses have testified that Maxwell owned a Yorkie named Max for several years in the 1990s and early 2000s.
The area, which adjoins the master bedroom and bathroom, also has a bathtub with a bizarre statue of what seems to be an erect cat standing on a ledge.
Last week a witness testifying under the pseudonym “Jane” spoke about the massage room which she said resembled a dark walk-in closet.
Framed photos were also shown, one of which showed Epstein and Maxwell kissing:
The Daily Mail points out that there are more images to come:
The courtroom was shown Tuesday – Day Seven of Maxwell’s trial – 19 photos of Epstein and Maxwell found on CDs taken from his Manhattan home.
They show Maxwell and Epstein smiling together, Maxwell rubbing Epstein’s feet, the British socialite in a bikini on a boat and several more never-before-seen photos which will be available to the public later today…
A number of CDs labeled with dates are seen in a drawer as well as a mysterious diploma.
Oh, and a certain pope also features:
One of the most striking images shows the financier and Maxwell meeting Pope John Paul II at the Vatican almost 20 years ago.
The pair are believed to have flown to Rome on Epstein’s ‘Lolita Express’ jet for the meeting, said to have taken place in 2003.
A source told The Sun: ‘Pictures like this show just how powerful Epstein’s connections were and his ability to open almost any door.
‘He managed to manipulate his way into royal palaces, the White House and the Vatican, all with Maxwell by his side.’
You can see all the images currently made available to the public here.
During the trial, prosecutors taking aim at Maxwell have focused on the source of her vast wealth as a way to illustrate just how connected she was with Epstein.
Earlier this week they told the court that over an eight-year period Epstein had wired Maxwell more than $30 million, with $7 million used to buy a private helicopter.
More via The Telegraph:
Lawyers told the jury on Monday that the vast sums of money she received from Epstein – still only a fraction of his estimated $630 million fortune – showed what an integral figure Ms Maxwell was in his life.
Others have gone further, and suggest Ms Maxwell was paid to groom underage girls for Epstein to sexually abuse.
Maxwell’s defence team has attempted to discredit witnesses by saying that they’re seeking financial compensation.
