The celeb gossip mags are out in full force trying to keep up with the split between model Gigi Hadid and former One Direction star Zayn Malik.

Especially since the couple is dealing with the aftermath of Zayn’s alleged physical dispute with Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid.

Not to mention, what their future as co-parents to their one-year-old daughter, Khai, will look like.

The Daily Mail reported that Gigi’s sister and brother, Bella and Anwar, are keen to cut ties with Zayn, saying that they “hate what he has done to their sister”.

This is all following claims that he hit their mother Yolanda and pleaded no contest to harassment charges.

Elle elaborates:

Last Wednesday, Zayn pleaded no contest to four charges of harassment against Yolanda and Gigi; he was fined and is “on 90 days probation for each count, totaling 360 days,” TMZ wrote.

Additionally, Zayn “must complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program,” and have no contact with Yolanda. While Yolanda alleged in court documents that Zayn “shoved her,” the singer denied having any physical contact with her.

The family seem to be done with Zayn for good:

…“Yolanda is very distraught about what happened especially after everything she has done for Zayn and how welcoming she has been,” E!’s source close to Hadid said.

“[Yolanda,] Gigi and Bella have been staying together in NYC and have truly been supporting each other. They have a great family support system and are glad they have each other to lean on. The whole family wants Gigi to be done with Zayn for good. They have seen this behavior before and think it’s unacceptable.”

A second source close to the Hadid family seconded that sentiment, “Everyone is sad that things got so ugly and took this turn. In every family there is drama and emotions run high, but they feel Zayn crossed a line and he needs to be accountable.”

Gigi and Zayn have broken up and reconciled multiple times before, but this time, it seems like things are definitely over.

Bar the co-parenting thing, where Gigi seems committed to letting Zayn be a part of their daughter’s life no matter what:

Hadid and Malik are currently focused on working out custody for their one-year-old daughter Khai.

“Gigi and Zayn have both met with lawyers separately,” the source close to Hadid said. “They both want to make sure they can sort out the custody situation with Khai and both feel entitled to custody of her.

She needs space. They have been in communication and have been working on how they will continue to co-parent, but it’s very tense right now. They do both want what’s best for Khai and are trying to be civil.”
