Barack Obama’s presidency ended in January 2017. What came next can politely be described as a four-year spell that turned America into a global laughing stock.
President Joe Biden’s approval rating currently sits at 42% according to the latest polling from Gallup, which is the lowest of his term to date.
It’s also the second-lowest of any president Gallup has measured at this moment in their presidency in more than five decades.
Donald Trump is the lowest, with an approval rating of just 37% after 283 days in office.
Barack Obama’s sat at 52% after 271 days, for a point of comparison.
His legacy has certainly been tarnished by the ending of America’s presence in Afghanistan, along with every other president stretching back a few decades, but he remains popular with many.
Over the weekend, Obama had a good laugh at the expense of New Jersey Republican gubernatorial nominee Jack Ciattarelli.
The latter attended a rally to overturn the 2020 presidential election and later claimed he didn’t know it was a ‘Stop the Steal’ rally.
Obama wasn’t buying that, reports Business Insider:
Obama mocked Ciattarelli in Newark as he stumped for Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, who is running for reelection to a second term in the Garden State…
The former president made light of Ciattarelli’s acknowledgment during a recent gubernatorial debate that he went to a November 2020 pro-Trump rally in Bedminster, New Jersey, which is also the home of the ex-Republican president’s golf club.
From the 1:40 mark, you can see Obama take aim:
“Come on!”
As long as Donald Trump refuses to admit that he lost the 2020 election, his supporters will carry on with the charade.
His ego will never allow that, and thus the show goes on.
