As the daughter of billionaire Bill Gates, Jennifer Gates won’t be inheriting much of her father’s large fortune when he passes.
That’s because he has pledged to give most of it to charity.
I suppose that’s not a biggie if you get a massive North Salem equestrian farm worth $16 million (R236 million) bought for you as a graduation present, though.
It’s also no problem if you will be thrown an extravagant wedding with new construction going up every minute to cater for the special day.
Yep, Jennifer, 25, will tie the knot with 30-year-old fellow equestrian Nayel Nassar this coming Saturday and the preparations are well underway:

The big event will be held on the sprawling North Salem horse farm in Westchester County, New York, which for the past two weeks, the New York Post has been keeping a close eye on:
The Post has had a first hand look at the preparations and captured exclusive photos of workers transforming the bucolic farm into a glamorous wedding venue fit for the famed daughter.
Staff have been working around the clock to construct massive, raised pavilions with floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the home’s lawn and what appears to be a large, semi-circular stage that abuts the structures, exclusive aerial images of the property show.
The area has been flooded with flatbed trucks, forklifts, and scores of work crews trying to set up what one neighbour says will be the biggest party the town has ever seen.
But most of the neighbours have not been chuffed with all the commotion, having been left largely in the dark about the upcoming wedding, until finding semi-trucks wheeling through the area about a month ago:
“In the beginning, some of my neighbours were very upset,” [neighbour Lynda Dupree] said.
“I said ‘we went to sleep in the country and woke up in a nightmare on Elm Street.’ We had no idea what was going on.
“I went and spoke to someone. I told them we’ve all lived here forever, and we’ve always respected the [Gates’] privacy since they have moved in, and I don’t think anybody was respecting ours.”
Everyone was quickly calmed down by an apology package sent by the Gates’, with a fancy bottle of wine, restaurant gift vouchers, and a “nice embossed card from Jennifer and her fiancé saying ‘please bear with us, we know we have a shared neighbourhood and we love North Salem’.”
The couple have been planning their wedding since getting engaged in January 2020 during a romantic ski trip:
