As a kind of teaser before the teaser, which all comes before the official trailer, Timothée Chalamet has given fans a preview of himself as Willy Wonka on set for the upcoming new film.

Wonka is the prequel about the beloved character, and Chalamet leaked a sneak peek of himself sporting Wonka’s signature top hat and purple coat in a couple of Instagram photos over the weekend.

As you can imagine, the memes have been off the charts.

It was rumoured that Tom Holland, Harry Styles, and even Janelle Monáe were in the running for the role, but months later it was revealed that Chalamet would be following in the footsteps of Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder, reported PopBuzz.

I don’t think anybody believed it possible to be thirsting over Willy Wonka to the extent that so many people have been, but alas, here we are:

Very little is known about this Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel coming in 2023, as production is still underway, except that several musical numbers are reportedly set to appear in the film:
