The classic ego-butting beef is still very much alive and thriving between two of the world’s richest men.
Of course, there is a snarky tweet involved again, too.
At this very moment in time, Elon Musk is still ahead of his billionaire rival Jeff Bezos as the world’s richest person.
The Forbes real-time billionaire tracker shows (as of 9:20AM) that Musk has a net worth of $203,5 billion while Bezos has a mere $189,5 billion.
CNN notes that Musk’s personal wealth skyrocketed an extra $10,6 billion last week after a secondary share sale by investors valued SpaceX over $100 billion.
The competitiveness between Musk and Bezos doesn’t end at just their respective armies of zeros, though.
The two have been at war over winning NASA’s contract to take people to the moon again for a while, with trolling on Twitter and even a hissy fit from Bezos.
Then, there’s also the culture at each of their big-time companies to account for.
While Musk is far from innocent, Bezos’ space travel company Blue Origin has been accused of toxic work culture, reported Mashable:
On Sunday evening, Bezos tweeted a throwback image in anticipation of a Washington Post piece about the toxic work culture at his space travel company, Blue Origin. Bezos, who owns the Post, had been notified the story would be running soon.
…After the Post article ran Monday morning, it became clear that Bezos’ Sunday tweet was preemptively defending Blue Origin as a disruptor in the space industry.
He’d posted a Barron’s cover article from 1999 doubting Amazon’s success. Amazon, of course, has become a $100-billion-plus company.
Musk saw this as the perfect opportunity to shove his winning streak into Bezos’ face on Twitter, once again:

This is nothing new really. Musk has called Bezos out for being second-best before, calling him a “copycat” in 2019, too:

Perhaps the only thing that they are all equal winners for (this includes billionaire Bill Gates) is not paying minimal income tax compared to the vast majority of Americans, despite their ludicrous wealth.
