Is there anybody out there who wants a skateboard “infused with 100% real Tony Hawk”?
I am going to need these people to reveal themselves because, sure, sportsmen are known to put everything they have into their game but this is just next level.
Not that being over the top is looked down on much when there is money to be made.
Hawk, who collaborated with a water company called Liquid Death, gave up some of his blood to make 100 skateboards, reports CNN:
Here’s Liquid Death’s promo video for more context:

Yeah, they mixed a vial of Hawk’s blood into the paint that they used on the skateboards:
And here we were thinking that a PR stunt couldn’t get any more extreme than Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic launch and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin launch.
The Tony Hawk blood infused skateboards sold out overnight, but make no mistake in thinking that Liquid Death and Hawk, who is a brand ambassador, won’t be making more of a killing from this stunt.
At least they’re donating 10% of the profits to 5Gyres, an NPO which empowers action against the global health crisis of plastic pollution.
They’ll also be donating some to The Skatepark Project, which builds skateparks in underserved communities.
Buyers received a certificate of authenticity alongside the screen-printed board, according to the Liquid Death website.
You may remember that rapper and singer Lil Nas X launched a controversial pair of “Satan Shoes” not so long ago, featuring a bronze pentagram, an inverted cross, and a drop of real human blood on Nike Air Max 97s.
But the company had to recall all the shoes after a lawsuit, and Lil Nas X was highly criticised.
You can imagine, then, how unhappy he is that Hawk has pulled off something similar without much criticism.
