During the Friends reunion special in June, Jennifer Aniston, 52, and David Schwimmer, 54, dropped a truth bomb that they had fancied one another while shooting the hit sitcom that ran between 1990 and 2004.

In the episode, Schwimmer admitted that they were “both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship.”

Aniston also mentioned how she and Schwimmer often joked about whether or not their first kiss would be on-screen, which it was.

They would also often “cuddle” in between scenes during shooting, and apparently, their co-stars all “knew” they liked each other.

Since then, it has been widely reported that the two of them have been spending a decent amount of quality time together.

And of course, this came with rumours about them dating, which have been spiralling across the internet:

The Independent reported, alongside many other publications including Elle, NewsAU, and IOL that a source told the British tabloid Closer about the possible romance:

“After the [Friends] reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there.

They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA.”

They’ve been spending time at Jen’s home, where she’s cooked dinners in the evenings, and have enjoyed quality time together, chatting and laughing.

They were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen’s favourite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.”

However, a rep for Schwimmer told Huff PostUK that an off-screen romance between the pair is not in fact true.

The statement simply said reports on the relationship were “false” and there was “no truth” to the rumours.

A spokesperson for Aniston also confirmed that the pair were just friends and not lovers.

Fans on the internet will just have to settle for the fact that all that chemistry was channelled into Ross and Rachel.

Meanwhile, the two actors remain single, supposedly.
