Skateboarding is one of the four sports making its debut at the Tokyo Olympics.
The others are sport climbing, surfing, and karate.
The women’s surfing event saw South African Bianca Breytenbach claim silver (Tatjana Schoenmaker is the only other South African to win a medal, and she won two), so thank goodness that made the cut.
Skateboarding has already provided some memorable moments, including the youngest Olympic medallist since 1936, as well as Team SA’s oldest athlete, 46-year-old Dallas Oberholzer:
Sadly, Dallas finished 20th in the men’s skateboarding park event this morning, missing out on a place in the final.
Let’s focus on 17-year-old Ozzie Kieran Woolley now, and his collision with a cameraman during the same event.
Both seemed in fine spirits immediately afterwards, with a fist bump to boot:
If that video doesn’t work, here’s one from Twitter:

It may seem odd that Woolley’s family was going nuts, but that’s because the Kiama, New South Wales, resident still qualified for the final, finishing second in his heat.
He finished fifth in that final, with the gold going to fellow Ozzie Keegan Palmer.
