J.J. Abrams has a pretty extensive IMDb bio, with 76 producer credits and 16 director credits.
He is best known for his work on the Star Wars, Star Trek, and Mission Impossible movies, as well as the series Westworld.
Strange objects in the sky and government conspiracies also have a pretty extensive internet presence.
Put the two together, and we have a new four-part docuseries called UFO.
The docuseries probes for the truth behind extraterrestrial phenomena while scraping away the layers of interference from the US government, lucrative private companies, and the military over the years.
With experience dealing with in ‘out there’ space content, Abrams is just the man for the job as UFO’s executive producer.
He worked on the documentary alongside director Mark Monroe, best known for Icarus.
With the recent spate of UFO confirmations, particularly the Pentagon releasing an unclassified UFO report, this full-blown exploration couldn’t have come at a better time.
Screen Rant has more:
In the trailer shared by Showtime on their YouTube page, real footage of UFO sightings from around the world is accompanied by narration from interviewees who have had experiences.
Beyond exploring UFOs, the trailer highlights the emotional side felt by those who share their stories, as they feel no one ever believes them.
Accentuated by an intense score, the trailer shows the declassified footage released by the United States government only a few years ago, and it promises an exciting dive into the unknown.
Be a witness:
UFO will be released every Sunday for a month on Showtime, starting from August 8.
