Dean Carelse has been put behind bars in Queensland, Australia, after his bail was revoked.

Carelse was first arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography back in March, after detectives from the Sunshine Coast child protection investigation unit searched his home and found a number of ‘items of interest’.

Before moving to Australia, Carelse taught and coached sport at Grey PE, where he was employed from 2003 to 2013, and Pearson High School in Gqeberha.

In the latest development, reports TimesLIVE,  it’s alleged that Carelse created an Instagram account under a fake name:

It is alleged that Carelse [below] created an alias Instagram account under the profile “Taylor Brooke”, using the handle “taybrookesa” to groom children.

He apparently used the account, which has since been deactivated, to initiate conversations with multiple children…

It is further alleged that he stole items from the school he has since been suspended from and forged certain documents, according to Queensland police.

Charges have now been added against him, meaning he also faces 14 counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, five counts of stealing, two counts of forgery, and one count each of grooming and observations or recordings in breach of privacy.

He will remain in custody until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for August 6.

When news of his arrest in March broke, Carelse called it an “unfortunate misunderstanding”:

Those words may be undermined by Gqeberha court documents, which suggest that he had a sexual encounter with a minor back in 2002:

As far back as 2002, Carelse had sent the messages to his ex-boyfriend.

They appear to show him admitting he had been sexually physical with a then-grade nine pupil at Grey High School, where he was a hostel assistant at the time.

After Carelse’s first arrest in March, his ex-boyfriend came forward with details of his own case in 2005.

Australian investigators are urging other potential victims to come forward, as well as anyone who may have interacted with the Instagram account in question.
