Nando’s have turned their advertising into a fine art over the years, and have knocked the nail on the head many times for their brazen satire on the political shenanigans in South Africa.

But when the food chain made fun of Jacob Zuma with a social media post yesterday, the former president’s supporters couldn’t handle the spice.

While we were getting ready to pop bottles when news broke that Zuma had been found guilty of contempt of court, and sentenced to 15 months imprisonment by the Constitutional Court, Nando’s took to Twitter.

As per The Citizen, the post makes fun of the former president’s challenge by replacing a Monopoly reference for the jail card with a Zuma-like number, and also references the order by the ConCourt for the former president to hand himself over within five days:

SA People reported that the restaurant’s name was trending at number two in SA for a brief moment, with only #JacobZuma beating them.

Frankly, the advert is layered with wit and many found the sense to laugh along with it.

But Zuma’s fans decided that the food chain is far too spicy and have threatened to never eat Nando’s again:
