Tennis fans will rejoice at the fact that Wimbledon begins today.
South African Kevin Anderson is in action from midday against Chilean Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera.
However, Rafa Nadal will be a notable absence, having announced his withdrawal from the tournament, as well as the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In a Twitter thread from June 17, Rafa said the decision had been taken “to prolong my career and continue to do what makes me happy, that is to compete at the highest level and keep fighting for those professional and personal goals”.
One of those is surely to win the French Open again, before he calls time on an illustrious career.
With a gap in his calendar, Rafa is enjoying some downtime in Ibiza, aboard his luxury yacht.
The Daily Mail bust out the long lenses to get some snaps, which you can see here, along with the usual array of descriptors.
Rafa was “hot and bothered” and “displayed some very noticeable tan lines” as his ‘thick brown hair took on a messy appearance” – all very standard, although if he was a female he would no doubt have ‘flaunted’ something or other.
Let’s leave all that aside and focus on the actual yacht, a custom 80-foot Sunreef Power catamaran that he received in June last year.
It really is a rather lovely yacht:
The makers of the custom yacht, Sunreef, released this video tour:
There’s also a series of interview with the tennis ace, about how stoked he is with his latest toy:
Before we go, let’s run through a few of the features via Robb Report:
The yacht’s generous living space spans nearly 4,000 square feet and represents one of the largest in class. It has been fully personalized for the tennis pro with no expense spared. Finished in an elegant colorway of cream, coffee and beige, the interior includes an impressive main deck saloon that has direct access to the front terrace, luxurious guest cabins that come complete with en-suites and an impressive owner’s suite.
Fit for tennis royalty, the suite features an opulent en-suite and its own side balcony where the Spaniard can work on his tan.
Ah yes, the tan lines.
We have come full circle.
Enjoy putting your feet up, Rafa.
