It is often said that between one percent and two percent, or 70 to 140 million people around the world, have red hair, according to the BBC.
The Northern Hemisphere is home to the majority of redheads, with about 10% of red-haired folks coming from the UK.
Prince Harry is one of them.
But there is only one true Harry, and recreating his aesthetic for TV is proving to be quite the challenge.
Producers of Netflix’s The Crown are reportedly struggling to find a red-headed actor to play the role of Prince Harry in the upcoming season.
Prince Harry is due to appear in the fifth season of the show, which will cover the royal family from the years 1990 to 1997.
Via The Mirror, the producers are set on finding the perfect Harry, which means their standards are rather high:
“Bosses have incredibly high standards when it comes to the actors they hire,” an insider told the publication.
“So any wannabe cast member already has to tick a long line of boxes. But with the role of young Harry they wanted another crucial box-ticking.”
The source added: “That’s proved incredibly difficult but they’re determined to cast the right actor and are considering taking any steps necessary to make him look the part.”
It is reported that they’re now considering using dye on another actor’s hair to turn him into someone that resembles Harry.
The Duke of Sussex’s character will go from the age of six to 13 in the next season, which will end in the year Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, tragically died.
Princess Diana is played by Elizabeth Debicki, seen above on the left.
Prince Harry has spoken about how this moment affected his mental health well into adulthood.
Anyway, if you know a ginger boy willing to give a royal performance, you might want to get hold of Netflix.
