A smartphone is a powerful thing, but it’s no match for an enraged farmer who knows how to use a forklift.
This rather one-sided showdown took place this past Saturday (June 5) in Durham, northeast England, with police called to the scene at around 5:45PM.
Low Force Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction, but lately, residents have been complaining that visitors are causing damage, starting fires, and speeding, which has enraged the local community.
Clearly, this farmer was gatvol, with The Telegraph reporting that he barrel-rolled a grey Vauxhall Corsa off the road using a forklift, after the driver had reportedly abandoned the car in a driveway after crashing it:
A shirtless man – believed to be the driver – kicked the cab and wheels of the forklift, while simultaneously filming the chaos on his phone…
The forklift driver can be seen to stop and check for oncoming traffic before proceeding to push the hatchback out onto the B road, which connects Barnard Castle and the waterfall.
As a final parting shot, the forklift knocks the shirtless man to the ground.
Sadly, the video is without sound, but we’ll make do:
The video shot to prominence after Jeremy Vine, BBC Radio 2 host, tweeted it out:
Driver has blocked farm gate with his car.
Motorist has smartphone.
Farmer has forklift.

In other footage from the scene, the shirtless man and his friends are seen chatting with police, joking that ‘this isn’t their first rodeo’.
Are you backing the farmer or the shirtless man? Something to consider before you make a final call:
Others who claim to know the farmer defended him on social media.
Mark Nicholson tweeted: “A lot more to this story, he’s a friend of a colleague, he’s been driven mad by these lot, starting fires, pushing walls over just to name a few things, not saying it’s right but they pushed him to the end of his tether.”
When you bust out the forklift, you know you’ve reached the end of your rope.
