Another day, another round of Ace Magashule versus Cyril Ramaphosa.
Anybody with a modicum of decency is rooting for the latter, but it would also help if our president would commit to dealing with Health Minister Zweli Mkhize and the Digital Vibes scandal.
We’re tired of the talk, we’re tired of the empty promises about rooting out corruption, and we’re tired of ‘family meetings’ where we’re told to behave while the looting continues unchecked.
Also, a ‘family meeting’ implies it’s a two-way thing, when really there are no media present to ask any questions once Ramaphosa wraps up.
But let’s put that aside for now and focus on Sunday’s Carte Blanche segment, detailing “the battle for the soul of the ANC”.
I’m not sure that’s a prize worth fighting for, but here we are:
Carte Blanche examines Magashule’s game plan as he files papers in the High Court in Johannesburg to get the step-aside rule declared as “unlawful, unconstitutional and invalid”…
As the match extends into extra time, and the party investigates the option of charging Magashule with misconduct for bringing the ANC into disrepute after he ignored warnings not to comment on the step-aside process or his temporary removal from office, we tally the score.
If Ace emerges victorious, some truly terrifying scenarios would be a step closer to becoming reality.
If Cyril emerges victorious, perhaps he can then hone in on some of the other crooks walking the halls of Luthuli House.
Let’s get scoring:
