While I am pretty sure that the adrenaline coursing through my body at a moment like this would see me run all the way to Timbuktu, there are other people out there who are a little braver.

Happy Wade had to think at lightning speed when a rabid bobcat attacked his wife in their driveway in North Carolina last month and seeing him fling the animal from his grip was an impressive display.

In a wholly different yard some weeks later, a woman named Hailey can be seen in a viral TikTok video shoving a brown bear off the wall where it was clawing at her dogs below.

It is stated that the video was taken in California.

Home security footage captured the moment Hailey ran out to save several dogs, picking one up and chasing the others away from the bear, which she’d managed to push over the wall.

The brown bear (apparently not a grizzly) appears to have had two little cubs with her and was probably looking for food.

The footage was shared on TikTok by her cousin Brenda (or @bakedlikepie on TikTok), with the footage going viral:

She also calmed down commenters who were concerned about the well-being of the dogs that were involved:

“PSA: The dogs and her (Hailey) are okay. No, she doesn’t do this on the regular. They were all outside gardening when the pups noticed the bear.”

One dog was “a little scratched” but the injury did not appear to be serious.

The bear and its cubs apparently stayed around after being pushed off the fence, and only left the area a little later:

“They’ll be putting up higher fences,” said Brenda.

It’s hard not to have a little giggle at the round fluffball being shoved over a wall, and knowing that nobody was harmed too badly makes it guilt-free.
