When you think of a skin-tight red swimsuit, you think of Pamela Anderson running on the beach to save lives in the 90s television hit, Baywatch.
It’s an iconic image, and it belongs to Pamela Anderson.
Up until now, that is, as British actress Lily James (on the left of the image above) is recreating the moment in the upcoming series about Anderson’s life with her ex-husband, Tommy Lee.
Hulu’s upcoming Pam & Tommy has James donning prosthetics designed to emulate Pamela’s (equally as iconic) busty appearance, according to The Daily Mail.
Some photographers were on set and captured the moment James posed in reference to the Baywatch bombshell, even practising the famous slow-motion run across the beach.
You know it, and we’ve all done it, too.
Though it’s been over 20 years since Pamela and David Hasselhoff were guarding the beaches of Malibu, Lily’s appearance transported fans back to the days when Baywatch was one of the most-watched shows, per E! Online.
Sebastian Stan appears as Anderson’s ex, Tommy Lee, and has adopted the tattoos of the Mötley Crüe rockstar to look exactly like him.
Here’s an image of Stan and James recreating the image from Lee and Anderson:
You get the idea.
Fans are loving Stan and James and praising their likeness to both Anderson and Lee.
But, it turns out, they didn’t get Pamela Anderson’s stamp of approval.
Anderson has reportedly branded the show “a joke and cheap knock-off” according to a source who spoke with The Daily Mail:
“Pamela has no intention of watching this God awful show, absolutely not. Never…
She’s never heard of the actors playing her or Tommy and doesn’t care to know them. She and her family think the show is a cheap knock-off.”
The insider then added: ‘The whole thing is a joke to them.’
The show is being directed by Australian filmmaker Craig Gillespie, who directed Oscar-winning movie I, Tonya starring Margot Robbie and Allison Janney.
Good luck to everyone working on Pam & Tommy, without the real Pamela Anderson’s approval.
