A harrowing scene was left in a guest lodge room in Kempton Park last Monday morning.
The room was left with bloody feet and handprints all over, from the bedroom to the bathroom, and a knife was found under the bed.
Chillingly, there was no body found on the scene.
A receptionist at the lodge was greeted by the gruesome discovery last week when she went to find out why a guest, who had booked the room, had not checked out.
TimesLIVE reports that an investigation is underway:
“Forensics were called to come and collect evidence and an inquiry has been opened for investigation,” said Kempton Park police spokesperson Sgt Dipuo Ditshego.
The first to respond to the scene were operatives from P&C Security, followed by paramedics and police officers.
So far, there is very little information available.
A man apparently checked in at 4AM on May 1 and paid for his booking with cash, which he carried in a black plastic bag.
Frustratingly, the guest lodge did not ask him for his ID number, the Kempton Express reported, which should be standard protocol for anyone staying at a hotel or guest lodge.
He arrived on the Saturday morning, as confirmed by CCTV footage, which also shows him leaving early on Monday morning whilst acting normally with no sign of any injuries.
Forensics specialists who took blood samples for DNA testing are waiting for the results, and Ditshego cannot confirm when they will be available.
Here are some of the graphic images shared by the Kempton Express:
So chilling.
Let’s hope investigators are able to make headway in this case, and somebody is held accountable.
