Alcohol trends change often but a few of them have been gaining traction over the past year or so and show no signs of slowing down.
Two really stand out.
The sober-curious movement is on the rise, with more and more people either slowing down their alcohol intake or setting it aside completely.
And, for those still enjoying the occasional drink or two, gin continues to top the charts as everyone’s favourite tipple.
Here’s Outlook with some insight into why this is the case:
The great thing about gin is that it’s so incredibly versatile. The flavour can be pushed in countless directions to create so many different styles of drinks, plus the industry is full of creative distillers. There really is a gin and a gin drink for everyone, it’s just about experimenting and discovering what you like,” says Ally Martin, Hendrick’s Global Ambassador.
The two trends seem counterintuitive, but for creative producers of quality mixers, they’ve opened up a whole new market.
Thanks to companies like Fitch & Leedes, you can stock up on premium mixers to experiment with, without compromising the quality of your gin. To add to their appeal, they also work as great alternatives to alcohol if you’re switching things up between drinks or not drinking at all.
Per Beverage:
The low and no alcohol movement is gathering significant momentum. That in turn has contributed to a blurring of the boundaries between soft drink and mixer categories.
…Whether they’re abstaining from alcohol partly or completely, these consumers don’t want to compromise their out-of-home drinking experiences.
For pubs and bars, the pressure is on to provide a compelling non-alcoholic range, and that includes premium soft drinks, like these nostalgic blasts from the past:
Another personal favourite, The Cheeky Cranberry, contains caffeine to give you that little extra boost with your sundowner. Drink it on its own for a delightful way to party without booze if you’re abstaining. If you’re slowing down, it helps to keep the good vibes going by alternating between drinking it with alcohol and drinking it without as the evening goes on.
Fitch & Leedes have also added a new collection of alcohol-free craft mocktails to their range of delicately carbonated, superbly balanced mixers, expertly designed by a team of master mixologists.
Pro tip – they taste just as good with a bit of gin thrown into the mix as they do on their own.
The options are limitless these days, making it so much easier to stay on-trend, whichever way the wind blows you.
You can check out and order the full range of Fitch & Leedes mixers, mocktails and more, online.
Cheers to the weekend!
