Even before moving to America, Trevor Noah was vocal about racial politics and other forms of discrimination.
Since he took up as host of The Daily Show, he’s spoken out about these issues in the US, on TV, and social media.
The last Daily Show segment we looked into was on the Atlanta mass shooting and how America should have seen it coming, with hate crimes against Asian Americans on the rise.
Important stuff, and worth a watch if you haven’t checked it out.
Not everyone is thrilled with his work thus far, though. One man, in particular, decided to make his feelings known in a TikTok video that has since gone viral.
Per TimesLIVE, Doug Romeo has a few unsavoury opinions about whether or not Noah has a right to do his thing.
Here’s an extract from the video you’re about to watch to get your blood boiling:
“You come over here, you talk about how badly black people in America have it — how the f**k would you know? How do you know that? You’ve never struggled in this country, you live in mansions, you’re taking it easy. What’s your fu***ng struggle?” he asked.

Another TikToker Zeno.za summed up how we’re all feeling about what we just saw: “Let me say this like a proper South African: voetsek”.
‘Tsek if you’re short on time.
Good Things Guy rounded up a few of the best responses to the video from the comments section:
“How about you come say that here in South Africa?” – Clawzy
“You are messing with the wrong country sir. Not trying to spread hate, do your thing, but South Africa is not the country to mess with.” – Aidan Karsten
The voetsek roundup:
“Hands off, Trevor Noah. Haaaaaa vhele, you’ll are bad. Voetsek. Love your country, but you lack humanity, And for the record, Trevor left SA rich.” – Makhubele Ndzawulo
“I’m from South Africa and also don’t like him, but VOETSEK wena. Don’t bad mouth our people from the comfort of your phone. Tsek.” – Paulvin Webster
“Ehhhh, my guy, from the bottom of my South African heart… VOETSEK!” – Thompson Magagane

Nobody said you had to love him, buddy. Just make sure you know what you’re doing when you come for a fellow South African.
We don’t take kindly to this sort of thing in these parts.
