Mossel Bay might not be up top the list of places you want to live, but it is proving rather popular with ‘mature citizens’.
That’s according to Lightstone Property’s Hayley Ivins-Downes, with data from the company showing a steady rise in property value over the past decade.
Nothing new about retiring to the Garden Route, and Mossel Bay does tick a few boxes.
BusinessTech reports:
Mossel Bay has a strong reputation for sound municipal management and economic diversification. Popular industries include tourism, real-estate, business services, petrochemicals, light industry, fishing, agriculture and wine feature strongly…
Mossel Bay is 30km away from George, where a regional airport connects residents and visitors with South Africa’s small and large commerce centres.
Lightstone Property’s data shows that 84% of Mossel Bay’s residents are above the age of 45 and 34% above the age of 65.
If you’re one of the ‘mature citizens’ looking at Mossel Bay as an option, and you want to kick back in style, we found a four-bedroom house on the market for R10,2 million.
Property24 calls it “a much-loved family home” in Mossel Bay Central which has “stood the test of time and been lavished with a beautifully renovated interior”.
Rather than showing you loads of photos, let’s take a video tour:
You can see that full listing here.
If you’re more interested in the R3 million range, there are loads of options, including this three-bedroom townhouse for sale in Pinnacle Point Golf Estate.
This newly renovated property has 3 bedrooms all en-suite. The open plan living area and kitchen flows easily to the outdoor weather proof entertainment area.
Open and exposed ceilings, wood burning fireplace, are some features that makes this house cozy in winter and cool in the summer.
A cheeky little jacuzzi on the deck, too:
Don’t get too carried away in there, as you’re not exactly dripping in privacy.
I think that’s enough talk about Mossel Bay for one day.
