What can be more terrifying than a murderous clown, like Stephen King’s It?
Possessed children, of course.
It’s bad enough that they wake up early in the morning, full of beans, but in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, there’s a potential demon in the mix.
The story is based on the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who was convicted of first-degree manslaughter for the killing of his landlord, Alan Bono.
It is the first case in US legal history where a defendant used the “devil made me do it” defence (long before Hansie, too), with Johnson alleging that 11-year-old David Glatzel had played host to the demon that forced him to kill Bono.
Here’s the write-up, via HBO Max:
…The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even these experienced real-life paranormal investigators.
One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them far beyond anything they’ve ever seen before…
Starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Julian Hilliard, and directed by Michael Chaves.
Take it away, very creepy trailer and child:
No thanks, I prefer my sleep without nightmares.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It will be released in US theatres on June 4, as well as HBO Max.
