So what’s new in policing women’s bodies today?
Well, Khloe Kardashian is yet again posting photos that throw into question what she actually looks like in real life.
While, sure, she is absolutely allowed to look any way she wants, and should not be criticised (or even pedestalled, for that matter) on that front, creating a controversy around your body and what you really look like can be confusing for everyone.
Since THAT photo of Khloe in an animal print bikini – that her grandma took of her and an assistant posted without permission – was removed from social media (mostly), she has posted another ‘unedited’ Instagram video and statement as a defence.
(If you really want to see that photo, head over to this Daily Mail story and you’ll find it there.)
Khloe says that the leaked photo was “beautiful” but she has the right to ask for it to be removed, reports Sky News:
“In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgement my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear,” Kardashian said.
“‘Khloe is the fat sister.’ ‘Khloe is the ugly sister.’ ‘Her dad must not be her real dad because she looks so different.’ ‘The only way she could have lost that weight must have been from surgery.’ Should I go on?”

She also mentions that she is not looking for sympathy, just to be “acknowledged for being human”.
Kardashian added: “My body, my image and how I choose to look and what I want to share is my choice. It’s not for anyone to decide or judge what is acceptable or not anymore.”
I do agree that comments around somebody’s body should be done away with, but that should be for the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly.
I do wonder though if we stop talking about how we look, what will the Kardashian legacy be based on?
