There’s a new action-thriller coming our way, bringing Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham together for the fourth time after Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Revolver.
This is also Ritchie’s latest film, the last being The Gentlemen, which is worth checking out if you haven’t already seen it.
While Statham has the acting range of a pot plant, he’s perfectly suited to the role of ‘H’, which he plays alongside an all-star cast including Scott Eastwood, Holt McCallany, Josh Hartnett, Jeffrey Donovan, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, and Post Malone (yes, him).
We’ll forgive Ritchie for his foray into Disney with that hideous live-action remake of Alladin, because according to Screen Rant, much like The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man promises to harken back to the gritty glory days of Snatch and Lock Stock.
The basic plot follows Statham’s character who joins an armoured car company to track down the people who killed his son. It’s your standard revenge plot, but still looks like a lot of fun:
It may be light on the comedic flair of some of Ritchie’s other films, but that’s just the trailer, and maybe we’re missing something.
Wrath of Man is scheduled for release in theatres on May 7, so look out for that.
