Unlike other countries that have recently had to navigate volcanic eruptions, Iceland is having a great time.
The Fagradalsfjall volcano blew its lid last week for the first time in 800 years and it was quite the spectacle.
As it happened, people flocked to within a safe distance to watch it all play out, and some, like Björn Steinbekk, went so far as to send drones into the middle of the action, capturing some incredible close-up footage of the lava flow.
Following the initial eruption, a fissure on the Reykjanes Peninsula opened up near the volcano, spewing fresh lava from the ground.
For your viewing pleasure, per Mashable, scientists set up a webcam so that you can watch it live.
If you click play, and nothing dramatic is going on, you can always toggle back on the time bar to the more interesting bits.
The first few hours of the live broadcast show some spectacular nighttime eruptions, with things seeming pretty quiet at the moment:
Scientists have also been collecting samples and studying the lava flow. It’s like Christmas if that’s where your research lies.

What you’re looking at in the videos and pictures above is called a ‘spatter cone’, which is a mound made up of cooling lava fragments.
Bjork thinks it’s cool so it must be:
