The great thing about celebrities putting their homes on the market is that it gives us a chance to see how the other half lives.
Or at least how the Hollywood elite live.
Tom Cruise has put his Colorado estate up for a sale for the mighty price of Australian $51 million (upwards of R587 million). This is the first time that the estate will be publicly available.
I’m sure there was much couch-jumping there in the past, so it has that going for it. Otherwise, apart from the size of the thing, it’s not that extravagant.
Per Real Estate, the property, which is nestled in the Colorado mountains, spans a whopping 320 acres.
Cruise spent years developing the estate which includes mountain views from all sides, and the opportunity for several outdoor pursuits including skiing, snowmobiling, and snowboarding in the winter, to golf, horseback riding, hiking, and biking during warmer months.
Inside you’ll find seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
That’s almost the same number of bedrooms and bathrooms as in that 195-acre property near Robertson that’s up for grabs in the Western Cape at the moment. However, that estate tops Cruise’s cabin, by having one extra half-bathroom in the mix.
Back to the Colorado estate with this description from the listing on Sotheby’s:
Luxury meets legend at this 320-acre Telluride ranch, custom built for privacy, where unspoiled natural beauty, sweeping mountain vistas and outdoor recreation abound.
This legacy estate, the realization of years of planning and vision, sits at the top of an escarpment overlooking the most breathtaking alpine views imaginable.
In addition to a nearly 10,000-square-foot main house, clad in bleached cedar timbers and native stone, is a three-bedroom guest lodge nestled in the aspen groves, met by dramatic viewpoints that capture the rolling hills and snowcapped peaks beyond.
We could throw in a million photos of the place, or you could take a leisurely tour:
You can also do a little snooping via a virtual tour on Sotheby’s website.
Have fun.
