There are a few real estate agencies out there that specialise in flogging some seriously weird properties.
You know, the ones that no one else will touch because they’re not just quirky, they’re downright odd, over the top, or creepy.
One of those real estate agencies is Zillow, which has become increasingly popular over the course of the pandemic, and not because people are in the market for strange places to live.
Via TIME, as New York Times reporter Taylor Lorenz put it:
“What many are contemplating when they browse Zillow…is not necessarily a purchase, but an alternate life. Zillow surfing has become a primary form of escapism for those who want to flee not just their homes but the reality of 2020.”
Social media accounts like Zillow Gone Wild and The Best of Zillow, have done the Lord’s work by sifting through the boring regular properties to find the ones that we really want to see.
Take a tour through the bizarre underbelly of real estate:

I’d like to remind you that there are people out there who made those choices, designed those houses, executed them, and then lived there.
Bless them.
