It’s becoming clear that apart from launching SpaceX rockets, Tesla, and tweeting like it’s his job, Elon Mush fancies himself a bit of a musician.
So far we’ve been treated to his attempt (I stress attempt) at a hip hop track commemorating Harambe, the gorilla who was killed in the Cincinnati Zoo a few years back, after dragging a three-year-old boy who climbed into his enclosure.
Not the sort of thing you joke about, but Elon knows no bounds.
He then released an electronic dance track, which VICE called “a certified banger”, so it must be pretty good. I have no idea what good techno is supposed to sound like, so I’ll take their word for it.
The latest one has a few layers, and I’m not talking about the mixing, but I’m sure that applies here, too.
So, the first thing that you need to know to understand where Elon is coming from is that there’s this thing called a ‘nonfungible token’ (NFT), and one of them, a work of art, recently sold for $69 million.
The ‘artwork’ is a JPEG file made by a digital artist known as Beeple. Apparently, there’s an increasingly popular market for digital art out there.
Elon decided to take this information and get meta in the studio.
Per CNET he tweeted on Monday that he’s selling a song about NFTs as an NFT.
Here it is complete with an animation of a spinning “vanity trophy” with various references to different types of technology, including dogs representing what we presume is Dogecoin.

Well, okay then.
He hasn’t revealed how much he’s selling it for, although we can assume it’s rather a lot.
